I cut the kids some slack after a decent amount of homeschooling this morning and sent them out to play. We are closing our island cottage for the winter this weekend, and will all miss it a lot. So when I realized how sunny and mild today was going to be, I figured they'd be better off running through the woods than working on our multiplication tables (we'll do that tomorrow). They played for hours... No fighting, no bickering, just lots of unstructured play. What's the point of childhood of you can't play, huh?
