“Marc,” Victor sighed like boring people do, “I thought you were a bold writer.”


“Why not tell your readers they, like you, will fall in love with une fille de joie?”

Victor threw the draft back in Marc’s face with something approaching exasperation. “On come on. You’re already half-way there yourself. Why not go all in?”
