I'm in London, Ontario, for the Ontario Grand Nationals. Sans Eldest - who had to stay home due to a scheduling conflict. I'm traveling with a friend (a grownup friend) and enjoying adult time mightily. Amazing how uninterrupted conversations make the 401 fly by.
I'll be competing in kata and sparring. Last year I didn't place in kata but I did win my division in sparring, so I'll work hard to keep that title today. But you know, in this sport, you either win or you learn, so really I can't lose. :)
Update: I did defend my title and won my sparring divisions (also got two silvers in kata). I fought for the money prize in the grand championship fight against a very fast, very good young woman and lost that fight 8-6. Not unhappy at all with my results.
