It’s not you, it’s... you and everyone else

I forget who it was who said you’re not stuck in a traffic jam, you are the traffic jam, but I wish I remembered because I’d like to give credit where credit is due.

It’s a great line, that applies to this story showing that no, you weren’t dreaming, your commute time is getting longer. But that’s because more and more people keep commuting to work near the same place and more or less at the same time. And every year it gets worse. Clearly this is not sustainable. I have dreams of how different it could - and should - be, but no, I don’t have a clear path from here to there. It’s going to have to get worse before it gets better, I fear.
